Welcome to JETS Football. It is our goal to teach young men the game of football and the fun and enjoyment it can bring.
The JETS Football League is a private school league comprised primarily of St. Joseph School, St. John Berchmans School, St. Mark’S Cathedral School, St. Mark’S Episcopal Cathedral, First Baptist School and Southfield School. This will be the 13th season for the Jets Football program.
We expect the best from our coaches and players, regarding attitude, discipline, and commitment. There are very few sports that require the time and practice that football requires. We ask that all parents respect the coaches’ time and commitment. The board asks that all parents remain off the practice field; please respect this request. As you know there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to run a football program. There are many areas that we need volunteers to help. If you are interested in helping, please contact your coach and he will forward your information to the appropriate people.
This year we will be utilizing our website for all communications. This website is www.jetsteams.com. All communications for practices, games, etc. will be posted on this website. Please check the website daily for any changes or updates made by the coaches. These updates will be posted to the website by 4 pm.
Again, we are excited about this year and look forward to great things from our coaches and players.

Jets Families, thank you for your patience. We have been holding off on updating everyone while our various leagues and teams considered how to proceed.
For now, our teams and leagues generally plan to move towards a potential football season - for both touch and tackle teams. Obviously, that could change.
Under the circumstances, our coaches are moving forward (or in some cases planning to move forward) with workouts for all those players who are comfortable participating. All of our coaches are very much aware of the current guidelines for group activities, and will take care to provide a safe environment that is respectful of players and parents concerns.
As such, all of our head coaches are back from last year, and feel free to contact them directly if you need guidance regarding how your team will proceed at this time.
If you need help contacting or identifying a coach for a particular team, please send an email to info@jetsteams.com, or advise any others who need such information to send an email.
Registration is currently "open" on the Jets website. Your coach can provide instruction on whether to register now or wait until a later date. We plan to make refunds to the extent any team's games are cancelled. As an alternative, you can opt to make any payment at a later time, rather than pay online at registration. In that case, payment will be due before any games begin.
If we do not play games this season at any level, we will attempt to schedule events when possible to keep our teams together and build momentum for next year.
Thank you for your patience, and stay safe!
Go Jets!

The Jets are already working on football for 2019, and we hope
your players are looking forward to next season as well! A letter is attached regarding Jets Football 2019. We expect registration to open at www.jetsteams.com on May 29, 2019, or shortly thereafter. 2019 Jets Football Parent letter.pdf Notably, the YMCA is not offering tackle football this year,
so the letter notes changes to our program related to that announcement.
In particular, we will offer more flag football options and move our tackle
teams to other leagues. League
selection will be made in close consultation with our coaches. Feel free to forward this email and the attached letter to
any parents and players who may be interested, and who would make good Jets! You can send any questions you may have to info@jetsteams.com, or contact your coach. Go Jets! 2019 Jets Football Parent letter.pdf

Jets Parents,
Following is the YMCA parent code of ethics. Please review and follow. Additionally the board would like to emphasis one thing. All parents need to remain off of the practice field unless specifically requested to aid in a drill by the head coach. We fully understand your desire to be supportive and have any and all questions answered. Questions for coaches should be handled after practice. Prior to practice coaches are generally busy preparing. Also, absolutely no parents on the sidelines during games. The only exception will be if you are a member of the chain crew. The "No Field" policy will be strictly followed with no exceptions.
Sincerely, Jets Board
YMCA Parents Code of Ethics
I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care, and encouragement for my child while they are participating in YMCA sports by following these ethics.
I will encourage and practice good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and officials at every game, practice or other YMCA events. Parents are not allowed to ever approach a game official. I will also never insight others to question an official.
- I will place the emotional and physical well being of my child ahead of my person desire to win.
- I will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all. If I have an issuer with my coach I will go directly to them and I will do this discreetly. I will never approach an opposing coach or an official.
- I expect a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco, alcohol, and vulgar and abusive language, and will refrain from their use at all YMCA sports events.
- I will remember that the game is for the children’s fun and enjoyment.
- I will teach my child to treat other players, coaches, fans, and officials with respect.
- I will help my child enjoy their YMCA experience by doing what ever I can.
- I recognize that YMCA sports are competitive and that this may be one of the first times that my child faces a defeat or failure publicly and I will be supportive win or lose.
- I recognize that YMCA coaches teach value lessons and that the games will begin in prayer and I will respect the rights of everyone to choose participation in these practices.
**Failure to abide by any of these rules could result in my suspension form the YMCA events and/or expulsion form the league for my child or myself.
